47 shares North Bergen man faces drug charges after traffic stop at Holland Tunnel

A North Bergen driver was charged with numerous drug offenses when he was pulled over near the Holland Tunnel for a cracked windshield and driving with his high beams on, Port Authority police said.

Larry C. Paredes, 28, was charged with possession and distribution of more than 50 grams marijuana, other drug offenses, improper use of high beams and a cracked windshield, PAPD spokesman Joe Pentangelo said.

Port Authority Police Officer John Adams stopped Paredes, who was driving a 2033 Audi, at at 13th Street and Marin Boulevard in Jersey City at 9:30 p.m. on May 3. Adams detected a strong odor of marijuana as he approached the car and Paredes admitted having some marijuana in the car, Pentangelo said.

Police searched the vehicle and recovered eight clear air-tight plastic baggies containing marijuana, one clear bag containing marijuana soaked in THC, and a grinder.
