Hoboken locals can access no-fee beaches from Atlantic City to Wildwood Crest.
Hudson County residents seeking a budget-friendly beach day have multiple options across New Jersey that charge no admission fee, according to a new guide. Beaches in Atlantic City, Sandy Hook, Wildwood, and several other locations offer free access this summer.
For families and individuals in Hoboken and surrounding communities, beach trips can be costly with daily tag fees. This list highlights destinations where visitors can enjoy the shore without extra charges, making summer outings more accessible.
Atlantic City beaches are free and feature casinos, restaurants, shopping, a boardwalk, and activities like surfing and kayaking.
Sandy Hook, within Gateway National Recreation Area, offers free ocean and bay beaches with no tags, though a seasonal parking fee applies from Memorial Day to Labor Day.
Wildwood stretches over five miles of free sand with a boardwalk of rides, restaurants, and shops; Wildwood Crest also offers free swimming, sailing, and jet skiing.
Keansburg Beach in Monmouth County has no admission fee, an amusement park, and water park, but no lifeguards on duty.
Other free beaches include Lower Township Beach in Cape May, Sunset Beach in Upper Township, and Strathmere Beach, all with calm waters and family-friendly settings.
Impact: These options allow Hudson County residents to plan day trips without worrying about beach fees, though parking costs may still apply at some locations like Sandy Hook.
What Happens Next: Residents should check each beach’s website for seasonal lifeguard hours, parking details, and any rule changes before visiting.
Summer beach season is a prime opportunity for Hoboken families to explore Jersey Shore gems without extra costs.
