Square Market will open at West Side Square development on West Side Avenue.
A new grocery store, Square Market, will open at the West Side Square development at 1075 West Side Avenue in Jersey City’s Marion neighborhood. The market will occupy 1,500 square feet of ground-floor retail space.
This market fills a gap in the area, providing residents with convenient access to everyday essentials near home as the 477-unit development prepares to welcome its first residents in August.
The development team, West Side Square Development Fund, includes Lanterra Developments, Westdale Properties, Lantree Developments, and Altree Developments.
Square Market is owned by the same team that operates Overlook Market in Journal Square and Lenox Market in Downtown Jersey City.
‘We have always envisioned West Side Square to be much more than just a place to start and end the day,’ said Raphael Mandelbaum, Principal at Lantree Developments.
Impact: Residents of the Marion neighborhood will benefit from easier access to groceries without needing to travel far from home.
What Happens Next: West Side Square will welcome its first residents in August, and the team plans to announce additional retail tenants in the coming months.
The project also includes a second phase called The Factory, which will create a pedestrian plaza.
