New evening service includes drinks and comfort food Thursday through Saturday.
The Café at Journal Squared, operated by Almost Home, has launched an after-hours menu with beer, wine, and comfort food from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.
The expansion turns the lobby café into a nighttime gathering spot for residents and visitors, adding to the growing retail options at the Journal Squared development.
The after-hours menu includes loaded nachos, loaded fries, burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a Thai chili fried chicken sandwich.
Almost Home founder Robert Doran said the goal was always to expand the menu and hours since the café opened last year.
‘Ever since we opened The Café at Journal Squared last year, our goal was to eventually expand the menu and the operating hours,’ said Robert Doran, founder of Almost Home.
Impact: The café seats over 50 guests with bar seating, tables, sofas, and rope swing chairs, providing a new evening hangout for the community.
What Happens Next: Coffee and espresso drinks will remain available until close, and a Paris Baguette is expected to open at the complex in the coming months.
The Café at Journal Squared is located at 595 Pavonia Avenue and is open for daytime service plus the new after-hours menu on select evenings.
