From Italian festivals to free concerts, here’s what’s happening in Hudson County from August 8–12.
Friday night, you’re scrolling through your phone, wondering if there’s anything to do this weekend that doesn’t involve another night on the couch. The kids are bored, you’re tired, and the same four takeout places are starting to feel like a rut. Good news: Hudson County has you covered.
From Saturday, August 8, through Wednesday, August 12, there’s a packed lineup of events across Jersey City, Hoboken, Bayonne, and Secaucus. Whether you’re a foodie, a music lover, a parent looking for something kid-friendly, or just someone who wants to be outside, here’s what you need to know.
Saturday, August 8: Festivals, Live Music, and Family Fun
Saturday kicks off with the 4th Annual Summer Blockfest in Hoboken from noon to 7 PM at 770 Jackson Street. It’s a music festival and community celebration with local vendors, live bands, and a family-friendly atmosphere. If you’ve got kids, the Second Saturday Story Time & Crafts at the Hoboken Historical Museum (1301 Hudson Street) starts at 11 AM — perfect for little ones who love stories and making things.
For a taste of Italy, La Festa Italiana 2026 begins Saturday at 5 PM at Holy Rosary Church in Jersey City (344 6th Street). There’s food, music, and a chance to soak up some culture. It continues Sunday at the same time.
If you’re into nightlife, Bingo Loco (21+) at White Eagle Hall starts at 9 PM, and Twisted Charm Live plays at Boots & Bones (116 Newark Avenue) at 10:30 PM. And for a throwback, 2016 Throwback Night at Birch Hoboken (92 River Street) starts at 10 PM — yes, 2016 is now officially “throwback” territory.
Over in Secaucus, the Home Free Global Crusade New York 2026 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center (355 Plaza Drive) is a worship and concert event with doors opening at 2 PM and the program starting at 4 PM.
Sunday, August 9: Culture, R&B, and Mindfulness
Sunday is all about variety. Start your morning with Prayer & Yoga at Pier A Park in Hoboken at 7 AM — a mindful way to ease into the day. Then head back to Jersey City for +1 Denissa R: Live in Concert, an R&B performance at Surati for Performing Arts (844 & 846 Newark Avenue) at 6 PM.
If you prefer the outdoors, catch Jersey City Summerfest: Strangers Stopping Strangers at North Cove Field in Liberty State Park at 5:30 PM. It’s a free concert, so grab a blanket and some snacks.
Monday and Tuesday: Community Ceremonies and Cozy Evenings
Monday brings the Annual Dominican Republic Restoration Day Flag Raising in Secaucus at Town Hall from 6 to 8 PM — a cultural celebration with meaning for many local families. That same evening, the Pajama Story Time at the Annex at the Secaucus Public Library is perfect for kids who want to come in their PJs and hear a bedtime story.
Tuesday, catch Adam Falcon Live at the South Cove Lawn in Liberty State Park at 6:30 PM — it’s an outdoor soul and blues concert that’s free to attend. If you’d rather stay inside and cool off, the Secaucus Public Library is showing a Movies for Adults: Summer Selection at noon.
Wednesday, August 12: Talent and Tunes
Wednesday is a big day in Bayonne and Secaucus. The Summer Sounds by the Bay Concert Series at G. Thomas DiDomenico 16th Street Park in Bayonne starts at 7 PM with free live music. Meanwhile, Secaucus hosts the 6th Annual Secaucus’ Got Talent Show at Buchmuller Park at 6 PM — come cheer on local performers. If you have kids who love crafts, the Summer Time Crafternoon at the Secaucus Public Library runs from noon to 1 PM.
