Back in June 2006 was the grand opening of our first Diamond Unisex Beauty Salon in Union City on 3800 Palisades Ave. I’ve worked at a salon before and have always wanted to have my own and in 2006 we made it happen. It was an exciting moment and that is when the journey began. We had a full-service salon. Eyebrows, hair, nails, waxing, henna tattoos and
more. We did everything to satisfy our customers. Business was great and continued to get
busier. Satisfied customers would bring their family and friends and that’s how word got out.
Along the way we made great relationships with many customers including city officials from
city hall which was located across the street. In 2017, I was diagnosed with breast cancer. It wasvery unexpected and a huge shock to everyone. I had to take a couple of years for chemo and torecover from the therapy. During my time off I didn’t sit still. I went to school and got licenses for eyelash extensions and microblading. It wasn’t easy, but with the support of my family and friends I fought the battle and came out on top. Late in 2019, I slowly got back to work but it wasn’t the same. As things started to pick up again COVID-19 put a halt on everything. I had a vision for dream salon and to expand our services. At the beginning of quarantine, we decided to close the location and begin to move. Over quarantine, we began the project to relocate. We found a bigger location and did the renovations necessary to be open once the quarantine was lifted. During this process, we had a lot of support from our landlord, Joe, who was the landlord
for our previous location and now for our current location. It was difficult during those times to
get approvals for the things we needed. With the support of Mayor Brian P. Stack and the town it made it a much smoother and easier transition and we are thankful for that. The new location of diamond Unisex Beauty Salon is 4022 Bergenline Ave, Union City, NJ. On Friday, October 2 nd we had our Grand Opening of our new location with the support of Mayor Brian P. Stack and his staff. The new salon will have many more services and we are ready for all our old customers to return and for our new customers to arrive. From 2006 to 2020, the 14-year journey has been a rollercoaster ride. With the support of my family and friends we hope to be in Union City for a long time.
