Ricardo Roig’s latest work celebrates the city’s hospitality and community spirit.
Acclaimed Hoboken artist Ricardo Roig is painting a new mural at Willow House, located at the intersection of 14th Street and Willow Avenue. The 28-foot-by-18-foot artwork celebrates Hoboken’s hospitality culture and sense of community.
Roig, a longtime Hoboken resident since 2007, has created several murals across the city known for his signature hand-cut and spray-painted style. This new piece continues his tradition of adding public art that reflects local identity.
The mural depicts a Great Gatsby-inspired cocktail-party scene with musicians, diners, and guests, according to a press release.
Roig’s hand-cut technique, previously used on murals like Hoboken Hero at 1012 Grand Street and Hoboken Color at 133 Clinton Street, will be featured in this new work.
“The mural is really a celebration of the spirit of Hoboken. It’s inspired by years of living, working, and making art here — the restaurants, the music, the people, and the moments that make this city special,” said Ricardo Roig, artist.
Impact: The mural adds to Hoboken’s growing collection of public art, enhancing the visual appeal of the neighborhood and attracting residents and visitors alike.
What Happens Next: The mural is expected to be completed in the upcoming weeks, though no specific date has been announced.
Residents can view the mural in progress at Willow House as Roig brings his vision to life.
