Free classes, community wellness, and cultural celebration open to all.
Hoboken will host its third annual International Day of Yoga on Saturday, June 21, at Pier A, offering free yoga classes and workshops from 10:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
The event, organized by the nonprofit Hoboken International Day of Yoga, aims to promote wellness and unity while honoring yoga’s ancient roots. It brings together residents and visitors of all skill levels for a day of movement, meditation, and community connection.
Registration is required and free, with an option to donate voluntarily. The first 50 donors giving $33 or more receive a curated goodie bag.
This year’s theme focuses on yoga’s cultural origins, including classes in Hatha, Iyengar, Ashtanga, Vinyasa, and a sound bath.
‘The response we continue to hear from residents on how the event opened them to a new experience, helped them meet a friend, or find a moment of peace is the reason I come back to this,’ said Radha Devi Om, founder and visionary of HIDOY.
Impact: The event supports The York Street Project, a Jersey City nonprofit helping women and families break the cycle of poverty.
What Happens Next: Attendees can register online. The full schedule begins at 10:30 a.m. with a Rolling Om for World Peace, followed by multiple yoga sessions throughout the day.
Organizers hope the event continues to grow as a staple of Hoboken’s wellness calendar.
