The waterfront restaurant marks a decade with locally sourced menus and skyline views.

Halifax, a farm-to-fork restaurant at 225 River Street inside W Hoboken, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this month. Known for its waterfront location and skyline views, the restaurant focuses on seasonal, locally sourced ingredients.

This milestone highlights the ongoing importance of farm-to-fork dining in New Jersey, where partnerships with regional farmers and fishermen support fresh, sustainable food. For Hoboken residents, Halifax offers a unique dining experience that connects the community to local agriculture.

Chef Seadon Shouse, who grew up near Halifax, Nova Scotia, leads the kitchen with a menu centered on seasonality, authenticity, and regional sourcing.

The restaurant makes many items in-house, including breads, cured meats, and smoked specialties, and sources from local partners like Fossil Farms, Barnegat Oyster Co., and Harvest Drop.

‘We focus on the farmer so that they get 100% freshness and nutrition from the food,’ a Halifax team member told Hoboken Girl.

Impact: Local sourcing reduces transit time, helping ingredients last longer and taste better, which benefits diners and supports the regional food economy.

What Happens Next: Halifax is now accepting reservations for its anniversary celebrations and summer season, which includes new cocktails like the Bay of Fundy Spritz and Smoked At The Jetty.

As Halifax enters its second decade, it remains a key destination for those seeking fresh, locally inspired meals along the Hoboken waterfront.
