New store opens Saturday at 30 Mall Drive West, replacing former Forever 21 space.
Old Navy will open its newest Jersey City location at Newport Centre on Saturday, August 15th at 10AM. The store, located on the second floor at 30 Mall Drive West, takes over the space formerly occupied by Forever 21.
This opening adds another affordable fashion option for Jersey City residents and visitors, expanding the retail mix at one of the area’s oldest malls. It also marks Old Navy’s second store in the city, strengthening its presence in Hudson County.
The nearly 12,000-square-foot store sits between JCPenney and Express, with the closest entrance through the West Garage.
Old Navy now has two Jersey City locations—the new Newport Centre store and the existing one at Hudson Mall on Route 440.
The grand opening invites shoppers to be among the first to check out the new store, shop fresh arrivals, and take advantage of grand opening promotions, according to the Newport Centre website.
Impact: The new store provides local shoppers with more choices for budget-friendly clothing and accessories, potentially drawing more foot traffic to Newport Centre and supporting the mall’s continued vitality.
What Happens Next: Shoppers can visit the store starting Saturday at 10AM. Newport Centre will also celebrate its 40th anniversary throughout 2026 with community events and a $1 million donation initiative to 40 local organizations.
The addition of Old Navy is expected to enhance the shopping experience at Newport Centre, which has been a retail anchor in Jersey City since 1987.
