Free Korean harvest festival at City Hall features music, food, and honors leaders.
The 2nd annual Chuseok K-Fest returns to Jersey City on Saturday, October 17, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at City Hall, 280 Grove Street, celebrating Korea’s harvest thanksgiving with music, performances, and food.
This free, public event builds on last year’s historic first festival, which was one of the first official Korean Chuseok celebrations held inside a U.S. city government building. It offers Hudson County residents a chance to experience Korean culture while honoring local Korean-American leaders.
The festival, themed ‘Honoring Our Heritage, Inspiring Our Future,’ includes traditional Korean music, modern Korean dance, martial arts showcases, a daegum solo, Korean hip-hop, and a K-pop dance finale.
At 2:30 p.m., the City of Jersey City will present a recognition ceremony honoring six Korean-American leaders for their contributions to business, arts and culture, healthcare, and education.
The event is open to the public and free to attend, according to organizers at the KCED Foundation.
