Viral Continuity

The host cell of the virus provides the assembly processes of the virus.  Non-viral DNA isn’t packaged into the virus particle.  They provide cellular chaperones, transport systems, and secretory pathways.  Macatazole is a pharmaceutical that disrupts the formation of microtubules.  RNA viruses usually synthesize their proteins on the surface of membranous vesicles.  This serves to concentrate the parts of the virus.  Many retroviruses fuse with cells at the cell surface; and then many types of viruses enter the cell by endocytosis.  The viral DNA travels into the cell nucleus inside a viral particle.  This DNA is the integrated into the cellular chromosomal DNA.

Retroviruses have a plus-stranded RNA genome.  When the retrovirus buds from the host cell it moves on an array of microtubules from the plasma membrane of the cell.  In polio virus, the virus is ingested and gets into the digestive tract.   The polio virus has the ability to get into the motor endplate and go up the Central Nervous System.  There, it causes paralysis.  The polio virus is unable to escape the Central Nervous System.  Even though smallpox has been irradicated in the United States, the US military still immunizes against smallpox because of the possibility that it might be used as a  biological weapon.  It should be noted that hot and moist climates helps in the spread of diseases transmitted by mosquitoes.
