From tattoo conventions to art classes, there’s something for everyone from Sept. 5-9.
A three-day tattoo arts festival and a host of community events will mark the Labor Day holiday weekend across Hudson County, starting Saturday, September 5. The lineup includes family-friendly activities, cultural celebrations, and live music.
With events spread across Secaucus, Jersey City, and Hoboken, residents and visitors have numerous options to enjoy the long weekend without traveling far. These gatherings highlight the county’s vibrant arts scene and local community spirit.
The Meadowlands Tattoo Arts Festival runs from September 5-7 at the Meadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, featuring hundreds of tattoo artists, live tattooing, and competitions.
On Saturday, Jersey City’s downtown pedestrian plaza hosts a weekly bar crawl starting at Boots & Bones, strictly for those 21 and older.
“This weekend offers a unique blend of entertainment and cultural enrichment for all ages,” said a spokesperson for the Jersey City Office of Cultural Affairs.
Impact: Families can take advantage of the kids’ art class at Mary McLeod Bethune Life Center on Labor Day, while the free SummerFest concert at Liberty State Park provides an evening of salsa and jazz.
What Happens Next: Though most events are open to the public, advance registration is required for the children’s art class. The flag raising ceremony is scheduled for Tuesday, September 8, at City Hall.
As the holiday winds down, these events offer a chance for community members to connect and celebrate the start of autumn.
